AC Milan have begun talks with Moroccan international and Udinese centre-back Mehdi Benatia with the Rossoneri keen on defensive reinforcements.
AC Milan appear to be leading the race for the experienced centre-back, but Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain are also keen.
The Milanese have been rotating through a total of 5 different defenders in the two central positions and none of them have looked totally settled or up to quality.
The Rossoneri are hoping to purchase the player’s contract this January and then loan him to Udinese until the end of the season.
Benatia has a contract until June 2017 at Friuli, but has been promised by club chiefs that he will be sold at the end of the season.
The 25 year old has made a limited amount of appearances this season battling injury troubles over the past few months.
Meanwhile in other news, Milan are also keen on a move for Newcastle United left back Davide Santon who left Inter Milan last season to join the EPL.
