Transfer News: Liverpool Sign Manchester City's Kolo Toure

Liverpool have announced the signing of Manchester City defender Kolo Toure who will arrive at Anfield on July 1, moving on a free transfer.

Toure will join when his contract with the Eastlands club expires with the strong athletic defender brought in for experience and to replace the departing Jamie Carragher who leaves for retirement.

The 103-time Ivory Coast international has spent his senior career in England where he begun with Arsenal.  In 2009, the 32-year old made a big move to join Manchester City.

After a mixed time with the sky blues where he made 82 appearances, he now joins the reds where a deal has been agreed upon in principle.
