Inter Milan Close in on Porto Striker Jackson Martinez

Italian Serie A side Inter Milan are putting a plan into action in order to sign Columbian international and FC Porto front man Jackson Martinez.

Martinez is set to follow in the footsteps of former Porto forwards Radamel Falcao, James Rodriguez and Hulk as South Americans who began their European career at the club before making a big money move after having a huge impact on the scoreboard in Portgual.

There are many teams who are interested in the 27 year-old but Inter believe that they have the plan to beat the likes of Arsenal, Roma and Chelsea to their target.

The struggling giants have put down an offer of 27 million euros plus bonuses for Martinez according to Mediaset.

It is not the price of the release clause which Porto have in his contract, but it's definitely worth considering at the very least.

And Inter have also gotten former great and countryman Ivan Cordoba to try and convince the striker to join the club as well.

Obviously to be able to afford Martinez, Inter will have to raise some revenue to do so and since they aren't gaining any from the Champions League, president Erick Thohir will offload some players to do so.

Samir Handanovic has been highlighted as a player who could be sold due to the fact that Inter have talented youngster Francesco Bardi on their books and also ageing Argentine Diego Milito would be leaving the club due to an expiring contract which would save millions in wages.

Transfer News: Liverpool FC Line Up Antonio Cassano as Suarez Replacement

Liverpool FC are interested in a move for Inter Milan striker and Italian international Antonio Cassano but only if Luis Suarez leaves for Bayern Munich or any other top European club.
The Bundesliga leaders have been repeatedly linked with Suarez and Pep Guardiola, who takes charge of the Bavarians at the end of the season, is keen to have him in board.

Italy international Cassano could be available after allegedly having a training ground bust-up with manager Andrea Stramaccioni. The 30 year old only made the switch from AC Milan just months ago and could already be on his way out.

Cassano was dropped for this weekend’s 3-2 win at Catania although he could be recalled for Thursday’s Europa League match with Tottenham at White Hart Lane.

Sources in Italy say Liverpool are interested although they will try everything in their powers to keep Suarez at Anfield.

If he is to be sold, however, the Merseysiders will expect to make a comfortable profit on the £22million they paid Ajax for his goalscoring prowess in January 2011.

He has scored six goals in his last three games and his hat-trick at Wigan on Saturday has taken his tally this term to 28.

Transfer News: Inter Milan Interested in Fernando Gago | Gago to Leave For Right Price

Inter Milan are interested in Argentina International and former Real Madrid midfielder Fernando Gago who joined Valencia CF only six months ago.
The Spanish club only bought the 26 year old in the Summer transfer window from Real Madrid who had loaned out the international to AS Roma for the duration of last season.

Now he could be leaving Spain once more and heading back to Italy with Inter Milan targeting a late move on loan with the option of a permanent move.

The central midfielder who can also play in the holding midfield role is believed to be able to leave Valencia for the same fee of €3,500,000 that they paid Real Madrid.

Gago has made 13 league appearances this season for the Los Che and also another 4 appearances for them in the Champions Legaue.

Transfer News: Atletico Madrid Target Ricky Alvarez From Inter Milan

Atletico De Madrid coach Diego Simeone is interested in Inter Milan midfielder Ricky Alvarez who has been deemed as surplus at the San Siro.
The 24-year-old has struggled to cement a spot in the Inter starting eleven this season, following on from his first year at the club in 2011/12, which was also disappointing.

Last season Alvarez started just 15 Serie A games, while he was substituted early in 13 of those matches. And in the current campaign he is receiving even less playing time, with just two Serie A appearances so far.

The Argentine was tipped to succeed Wesley Sneijder at Inter and was bought from Velez Sarsfield with that in mind in 2011 – he has though failed to thoroughly convince with Fredy Guarin beginning to impress in Sneijder's role instead.

Now countryman Diego Simeone wants him at Atletico Madrid according to sports mediaset.

The Spanish giants are eyeing up a loan move for the rest of the season for the 24-year-old, with the option to make that a permanent switch at the end of the campaign for a set €6M fee.

Atletico Madrid are currently second in La Liga and hoping to replicate an impressive first half of the season during the second half.

Transfer News: Liverpool Make £8m Philippe Coutinho Bid | Reds Turn to Inter Midfielder

Liverpool FC are interested in Inter Milan attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho and have launched an ambitious £8 million bid for the 20 year old.
But the Merseyside club may have to go beyond their initial offer to secure a player once considered the next superstar of South American football.

Brendan Rodgers has been monitoring the young midfielder's situation in Italy, where he has fallen out of favour recently.

After becoming increasingly frustrated in efforts to sign Thomas Ince from Blackpool, whose club would not budge on a valuation in excess of £6 million, Rodgers instead turned to the 20-year-old attacker who has already played for the senior Brazilian side.

Coutinho would fit the bill as the prototype signing of Liverpool's owners Fenway Sports Group, as a young and emerging international talent.

The one-time Brazil international has recently been linked with Southampton and Aston Villa as well as the Reds but it is unlikely he would not end up there permanently.

Transfer News: Inter Milan Weigh up a £25m Move For Edin Dzeko | Italians Also Want Remy and Damiao

Inter Milan are interested in bringing in Manchetser City striker Edin Dzeko as the Italian side look to bring in more firepower with Loic Remy and Leandro Damiao also attracting the Nerazzurri's attention
Inter Milan Target Edin Dzeko
Both Damiao and Remy are wanted in England with Newcastle maintaining interest in Remy and Tottenham hopeful of signing Brazil international Damiao at the third attempt for bid of around £15million.

City are reluctant to sell Dzeko without finding a replacement first. Edinson Cavani at Napoli is one target but the Italians' excessive valuation of £50million is proving prohibitive.

City assistant coach Angelo Gregucci has confirmed admiration for Cavani adding: 'I don’t know if the club will lay siege to Napoli for Cavani, but every club with a player of the highest level will know they’ll be courted by bigger clubs.

'Mancini decides the transfer targets along with the new directors. If you ask the clubs who can afford Cavani, for example Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester United, then I think they’d want Cavani just as Manchester City want him. If he should want to undertake a new adventure, then he will tell the club and I expect they’d let him go.'

He added: 'Cavani is among the world’s top five strikers and is doing great things. Napoli invested heavily in him, but the player's intentions are decisive.'

Cavani recently scored a hat-trick in the important 4-1 win over AS Roma over the weekend.

Transfer Rumours: Liverpool Want Lazio Defender Modibo Diakite

Liverpool FC and Inter Milan are showing interest in Lazio centre-back Modibo Diatkite according to Italian TV station Sky Sports 24.
Liverpool Target Modibbo Diakite
The French defender joined Lazio from Pescara in 2006 and has played 25 times for the Serie A side in 2012/2013.

With the likes of Daniel Sturridge and Thomas Ince set to join Liverpool at the start of the January transfer window, there has been little suggestion that Brendan Rodgers would look to beef up his options at the back.

Diakite was linked with Inter Milan earlier this month after rejecting a new deal at Lazio but the Nerazzurri denied they were interested in the 25-year-old defender.

With his contract up in June, Liverpool are reportedly joined in the race for Diakite by Russian side Terek Grozny.

Diakite has been in negotiations with Lazio for a number of weeks who want to secure him for another 4 years but Diakite looks set to move on, either in January or next summer.

Transfer Rumors: Keisuke Honda to Inter Milan | Honda to Replace Sneijder

Inter Milan are interested in a move for CSKA Moscow play-maker Keisuke Honda as a means to replacing Wesley Sniejder who is currently refusing contract offers from the club.
Keisuke Honda, Inter Milan
Wesley Sneijder has had trouble with Inter over the last few months over contract negotiations and this had led to him missing out on a lot of playing time. The Dutch international looks to be on his way out with Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United looming come January.

Inter could now look to Honda as a replacement according to Portuguese newspaper A Bola with Javier Pastore in mind as well. The 26 year old Japan international has been in excellent form this season for the Moscow club, scoring 8 goals and making 4 assists.

The former VVV Venlo man has already been linked to an Italian switch with Lazio heavily rumored to be in the market for Honda last season. Liverpool are now also interested in Honda over the past couple of weeks too.

Inter Milan however could have the edge over the Reds as they already have some Japanese blood on the team in the form of Yuto Nagatomo. He could help persuade Honda to come to Italy.

Keisuke Honda is valued at €15 million and his contract ends in 2014.
