Transfer News: Man Utd Battle With Leverkusen for Nico Gaitan |The Football Hype

Manchester United will be facing some stiff competition for Benfica attacking midfielder Nico Gaitan who appears to be on the radar of Bayer Leverkusen as well.

Leverkusen have secured Champions League football for next season with a third place finish imminent with one match still to play. They now will have a bigger budget for the transfer window and with a need to replace a most likely Chelsea FC bound Andre Schurrle, Nico Gaitan is now a prime targeted to the replace the German international.

They began targeting Chelsea's on loan Werder Bremen star Kevin De Bruyne but he appears to be heading towards a move to Borussia Dortmund to replace Mario Gotze instead.

Manchester United have viewed Gaitan as a long-term target along with fellow team-mate Ezequiel Garay.
