Aiden McGeady Poised to Join Everton

Spartak Moscow midfielder Aiden McGeady is set to join Everton for a reported fee £4million after the Republic of Ireland international joined the Russian side for £9.5million.

McGeady has just 12 months left on his contract which means that the Russian side would let him go at a reduced price so that they can reclaim come of the fee which they paid Celtic three years ago.

The 27-year old looks set to join new manager Roberto Martinez at Everton where he could become the first signing of Martinez's short career at the Merseyside club.

During January's transfer window Martinez almost signed McGeady when he was at Wigan but a £5million deal faltered at the last stage.

The 60-time capped international made 31 appearances in all competitions last season and produced 5 goals and 10 assists all together.
