Inter Milan Close in on Porto Striker Jackson Martinez

Italian Serie A side Inter Milan are putting a plan into action in order to sign Columbian international and FC Porto front man Jackson Martinez.

Martinez is set to follow in the footsteps of former Porto forwards Radamel Falcao, James Rodriguez and Hulk as South Americans who began their European career at the club before making a big money move after having a huge impact on the scoreboard in Portgual.

There are many teams who are interested in the 27 year-old but Inter believe that they have the plan to beat the likes of Arsenal, Roma and Chelsea to their target.

The struggling giants have put down an offer of 27 million euros plus bonuses for Martinez according to Mediaset.

It is not the price of the release clause which Porto have in his contract, but it's definitely worth considering at the very least.

And Inter have also gotten former great and countryman Ivan Cordoba to try and convince the striker to join the club as well.

Obviously to be able to afford Martinez, Inter will have to raise some revenue to do so and since they aren't gaining any from the Champions League, president Erick Thohir will offload some players to do so.

Samir Handanovic has been highlighted as a player who could be sold due to the fact that Inter have talented youngster Francesco Bardi on their books and also ageing Argentine Diego Milito would be leaving the club due to an expiring contract which would save millions in wages.
