Chelsea Transfer News: Karim Benzema to Replace Falcao

Chelsea could switch their attentions to Real Madrid star Karim Benzema after their efforts to sign Radamel Falcao fell through.

Falcao had been their primary transfer target, but Chelsea manager Rafa Benitez is already weighing up other options which he has also considered Napoli's Edinson Cavani.

Spanish paper AS claims Benzema would entertain a move to the Premier League and is willing to enter into negotiations immediately, however recognises that a deal might be complicated.

Chelsea have become increasingly frustrated with the output of Fernando Torres, and are desperate to bolster their firepower.

Benitez even admitted earlier this week that he is unsure whether Torres will be able to recapture his best form for the Blues.

A move for Benzema could start to see the disbanding of some of Real’s galaticos, with rumours circulating that Cristiano Ronaldo and manager Jose Mourinho could be off to PSG.
