Transfer News: Arsenal, Man Utd Interested in Remy Cabella From Montpellier

Arsenal and Manchester United are being linked with a move for Montpellier midfielder Remy Cabella according to the Sun.

Man Utd Target Rem Cabella

Arsenal and Manchester United are tracking the player’s progress in Ligue 1, with the £5 million-rated former French U21 international close to winning his first full cap for Les Bleus.

Cabella is currently in some fine form for the French champions who in 2010/11 finished 14th and last season went on to take the league. The 22 year old has made 21 appearances scoring 5 goals and also gathering 5 assists.

However, Montpellier club president Louis Nicollin seems unwilling to let the player leave such a fee, searching a ‘fortune’ from any interested party.

“It will take a fortune for us to consider letting him leave,” Nicollin is quoted as saying in The Sun.

Manchester United currently holds a possible persuader in the form of Patrice Evra who has 46 international caps for France. But the French connection at Arsenal is most definitely stronger, with manager and Frenchman Arsene Wenger always interested in players from his homeland. Olivier Giroud is another who joined Arsenal from Cabella's team Montpellier and they could possibly be reunited come January. Montpellier will come up against AC Ajaccio tonight and meanwhile Manchester United will be up against League rivals and city rivals Manchester City in a bid for top spot.
