Transfer News: QPR Eyes Marko Marin & Mohamed Diame to Kick off January Spending

QPR are hoping to kick off their January spending by completing a double deal for out-of-favour Chelsea winger Marko Marin and West Ham star Mohamed Diame the metro understands.

Harry Redknapp is desperate to add to his options in the new year in a bid to help the club avoid relegation, and is rumoured to be targeting up to five new players.

Marseille striker Loic Remy and the much travelled Nicolas Anelka are his top two priorities, but with negotiations dragging on, Redknapp has reportedly opted to peruse other deals first.

According to the German media, Queens Parks Rangers have lodged a loan offer for Chelsea winger Marin, which is being seriously considered as there is many other players ahead of him in the current line-up.

The German flyer has struggled for match time since his switch from Werder Bremen, and Redknapp apparently wants the wideman to provide service for his goal-shy strikers.

Elsewhere, QPR have also lodged an offer with West Ham for Mohamed Diame, who has recently been linked with both Arsenal and Newcastle United.

Diame only moved to Upton Park from Wigan in the summer, but  reportedly has a £3.5million buyout clause that makes him a potential bargain.

But for QPR's survival hopes, Diame could only have little use as he is out with a long term injury and would not be available for the hoops in upcoming matches.

West Ham are yet to announce whether they have accepted or rejected the bid, but Sam Allardyce could use the funds as he bids to land Andy Carroll on a permanent deal.
