Swansea City are set to make a move for Real Betis defensive midfielder Jose Canas as they once again delve into the Spanish market.
Canas has already indicated that he would welcome the move to the English Premier League and has since has contract talks stall with Betis.
His move to Swansea would be favoured over others as he has a Spanish connection with the likes of Chico, Rangel Angel, Michu and Pablo Hernandez who all made the move from Spain in the past.
Betis who are currently lying in financial ruin along many of their Spanish counterparts could have no choice but to let their some of their stars leave.
Canas's contract is up in June and if Real Betis cannot negotiate a move or a new contract then he would be able to leave the club for free in just a few months time.
The Spanish midfielder has enjoyed a solid season so far making 14 league appearances and starting all bar one. This has contributed to the current position that Betis is in, helping them to 5th spot going into the winter break.
