Transfer News: Tottenham To Make Move For Lyon's Bafetimbi Gomis

Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move for Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis as the deadline to January's transfer window is coming to a fast close.
Gomis, 27, has scored 12 goals this season but may be allowed to go for a cut-price £8million.

Spurs played without a recognised striker in the team as they were knocked out of the FA Cup at Leeds on Sunday, because Jermain Defoe was injured, Emmanuel Adebayor is on Africa Cup of Nations duty and young Harry Kane is out on loan at Norwich.

Villas-Boas is keen to bring another striker to the White Hart Lane club. The Lyon striker has been linked with a move to England over the past couple of months with Liverpool and Chelsea the interested parties thus far.

Brazil international Leandro Damiao is the No1 choice, but he may not be available until the summer.
