Zenit St. Petersburg coach Luciano Spalletti is interested in bringing in AC Milan right wing-back Ignazio Abate to add to Summer signings of Hulk and Axel Witsel.

The Italian international defender grew up in the Rossoneri youth academy, though he also had spells at Napoli, Sampdoria, Piacenza, Modena, Empoli and Torino.

Russian side Zenit have offered €10m to take the right-back in January who was not long ago targeted by Paris Saint-Germain.

Alexandre Pato has already been sold to Corinthians this week, while talks are continuing with Santos for Robinho.

It is claimed Milan hope to add Abate to the exit list in order to raise the necessary €35m to take Mario Balotelli from Manchester City.

The Corriere dello Sport maintains the Rossoneri are also eyeing a cheaper option in Juventus bench-warmer Alessandro Matri.

It would be a reunion for Matri, who was a Milan youth team player and also worked with Coach Massimiliano Allegri at Cagliari.
