Liverpool have made a £3million bid for FC Porto star and Tottenham Hotspur target Christian Atsu who could be set to replace either one of Stewart Downing and Oussama Assaidi who are both set to be sold.
Despite having a £10million release clause in his contract, Atsu could be given the chance to leave the Portuguese champions for a cut-price as his contract runs out next year and Porto face the risk of losing him for nothing.
It is believed that Atsu is believed to be favouring a move to Tottenham over the Reds as to be reunited with former Porto boss Andre Villas Boas.
But as it stands, Tottenham have been yet to make a move for the winger which gives Liverpool a clear shot at the Ghana international for the moment.
