FC Barcelona have revealed that they could turn to David Luiz if they can't sign Paris Saint-Germain and former Milan player Thiago Silva.
The Catalans have struggled in this position over the past couple of seasons with the Spanish utilizing the likes of Adriano, injury prone Carlos Puyol, inexperienced Marc Batra and makeshift defender Javier Mascherano alongside the consistent Gerard Pique.
They now seem that they are ready to do something about this issue with the likes of Mats Hummels, David Luiz, Branislav Ivanovic and Jeremy Mathieu linked with a move should they fail in getting Thiago Silva.
Among the other candidates, Chelsea's David Luiz looks the favourite with the former Benfica player excelling in a new role at Stamford Bridge under interim coach Rafael Benitez.
The Brazil international is reported to be worth around £25million and the good news for Barcelona is that new coach Jose Mourinho is keen on the idea of selling Luiz along with Juan Mata to compensate for other signings that he wants to make.
