Italian Serie A runners-up are closing in on Belgium international and PSV winger Dries Mertens in a reported €10million deal.
The 26-year old looks set to join Benitez at Napoli after a terrific season at PSV with a monstrous 20 goals and 25 assists in 48 appearances in all competitions.
Both teams are thought to be in agreement over the transfer with only a few small details surrounding the deal remaining.
New coach Rafael Benitez needed to find a winger in his conventional 4-2-3-1 system and after looking at a couple of names from England which included Theo Walcott and Aaron Lennon, Mertens is his man.
Napoli now need to turn their attention to Edinson Cavani where they will either have to find a replacement or try to keep the Uruguayan international who is in Brazil to try and help his side lift the Confederations Cup trophy.
