Manchester City defensive midfielder and English international Gareth Barry has emerged as a shock target for Tottenham as they prepare to offload Scott Parker.
The 32-year old would be a like for like replacement for Parker as both have similar play styles. The one question that many people would ask is why they would make a move for Barry when both Parker and the Man City player have very similar stats.
The Manchester City man only has one year left on his contract and could leave for as little as £3.5million.
Barry made 31 appearances during the 2012-13 English Premier League season where he scored one goal and made four assists.
