Alessandro Matri to Join Napoli From Juventus

Juventus striker and Italian international Alessandro Matri could be set to make a move to fellow Serie A title contenders Napoli.

It is believed that Napoli coach Rafa Benitez has made an offer in the region of 12 million euros to get their target but Juventus originally wanted 15 million euros and could settle for less.

The runners-up have been on the lookout for a striker to pair up with Gonzalo Higuain but after going for the likes of Abel Hernandez and Jackson Martinez, the San Paolo outfit have had no luck.

Matri has been referred to as the alternative and now will probably join unless he is unable to agree to personal terms.

However he will still seek to leave Juve with the arrival of Fernando Llorente and Carlos Tevez dropping him down the pecking order.

The former Cagliari striker made 35 appearances in all competitions for the Turin side with 10 goals to his name over the duration of last season.
