Liverpool to let Skrtel Leave on Loan to Napoli

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is thinking about letting Slovakian defender Martin Skrtel leave the side on loan for the next season with an option for a permanent deal.

The Reds have not been pleased with the recent performances of their once once first choice centre back and now could let him leave initially on loan with the option for a permanent deal.

It is believed that Napoli are in fact close to making a deal reality with Skrtel available for 2 million euros with a further 10 million to be paid for a permanent deal.

Having Skrtel leave the side on loan also increases speculation that the Anfield side are close to making another addition to the squad with Schalke star Kyriakos Papadopoulas rumoured to be joining in Skrtel's place.

The Italian club are looking to make a statement this season as they prepare to enter the Champions League, having already purchased wingers Jose Callejon and Dries Mertens, Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid and also Raul Albiol along with Liverpool keeper Reina.
