Ranocchia to Join Chelsea to Replace Luiz

Inter Milan and Italian international defender Andrea Ranocchia is being linked with a move to England with Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho taking an interest in the 25 year-old.

The Portuguese manager has got the former Genoa man in his sights to replace David Luiz who has failed to impress the coach as he has only started five Premier League matches for the season so far.

And a move for Ranocchia would make sense as new Indonesian owner Erick Thohir is reportedly happy to let the Italian go to free up some funds to let him add his own touch to the squad in January with players such as Edin Dzeko, Ezequiel Lavezzi and also Martin Montoya in mind already.

Ranocchia has totalled 100 appearances in all competitions since joining Inter from Genoa in 2011 for an estimated fee of 18.5 million euros.
