Tottenham are considering a move for FC Barcelona winger Ibrahim Afellay who is set to leave the Nou Camp as he has been deemed as surplus to requirements.
The 27-year old spent last season on-loan at German side Schalke where he was largely unsuccessful due to large spells on the sidelines due to injury.
There is no doubting his talent though and if fit he would be a great addition to any squad. Barcelona are looking to sell Afellay for just £5million and now it seems Tottenham and Arsenal are considering moves.
Spurs coach Andre Villas Boas is searching for attacking options with the front line expected to be overhauled during the summer.
Tottenham are in pole position at the moment ahead of the Gunners and would provide competition for the White Hart Lane side should he arrive.
