Transfer News: AS Roma Linked With Real Madrid Star Marcelo

Serie A side AS Roma are being linked with Brazil left-back and Real Madrid star Marcelo who is apparently out-of-favour at the Bernabeu.

The Italian club has leaked plenty of goals this season and although they brought in a number of defenders including: Vassilis Torosidis, wonder kid Marquinhos, Leandro Castan, Dodo, Federico Balzaretti and Ivan Piris on loan, the Roma club have struggled immensely at the back.

The 25 year old's future may hinge on the decision which the club makes on fellow left-back and team mate Fabio Coentao who has been linked with Jose Mourinho's Chelsea.

The 18-time Brazil international has only made 14 appearances largely due to injury but would make a great addition to the Roma defence as he also skills in helping the team attack which how Roma play.

The question remaining is how much would Real Madrid value their defender on the market. If they no longer require him, he could leave for a very good price.
