Roma in Talks with Valencia Keeper Diego Alves

AS Roma have began talks with Brazilian and Valencia goalkeeper Diego Alves with the Italian side looking for an experienced keeper to start a new era.

Roma who unveiled former Lille coach Rudi Garcia last month want to replace Maarten Stekelenburg who left for Fulham after a disastrous two seasons in Italy.

The 28 year-old who has amassed 7 caps for the national side to date is now in talks with the Rome side as confirmed by the Valencia chief Braulio Vasquez. "Could Diego Alves be going to Roma? Maybe ....."

Roma are hoping that an offer of 2 million euros would be enough to tempt Valencia into selling Alves who also has Italian citizenship.
