Liverpool Transfer News: Atsu, Alberto, Mignolet and Mkhitaryan

Liverpool coach Brendan Rodgers is close to adding to his two summer signings in Iago Aspas and Kolo Toure with Simon Mignolet, Christian Atsu, Luis Alberto and Henrikh Mkhitaryan all set to join.

The Merseyside team have been working hard in the market over the past month and it seems that they could have the signatures of at least 6 players by the end of the month.

These signings represent the intent which Liverpool have to reach the top 4 for next season with Shakhtar midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan to be the most expensive with the 24-year old set to join for around £22m.

Also wingers Luis Alberto and Christian Atsu are close to joining with the Sevilla youngster valued at £6.8m but Liverpool are standing firm at £6m. Porto forward Atsu is also nearing a move to England and could join for as little as £3m with his contract up next season.

Luis Suarez is apparently wishing to move to Real Madrid which could free up another £40m to spend on a new centre forward but as it stands no player in this position has been strongly linked with the Reds as yet.

Andy Carroll is another Liverpool player who is set to leave with West Ham United gearing up to buy the England international for £15m.

The Reds are also in talks to sign Sunderland keeper and Belgian international Simon Mignolet with the fee to be around £10m. Current first choice keeper Pepe Reina is nearing an exit with Barcelona the most likely to snap up the Spanish international.

The English Premier League club has still yet to sign a successor for the retired Jamie Carragher but Liverpool are confident of signing Sporting Lisbon's Thiago Illori and Schalke's Kyriakos Papadopoulos.

With Martin Skrtel's rumoured exit at the club with Napoli, Zenit and Arsenal all interested,  one or both of these two could be brought in to fill these vacant positions.
